10 días en Bogotá

Después diez días en Bogotá, rápidamente la ciudad había convertirse mi nuevo hogar. Cuando llegué la semana pasada yo he tenía muy suerte tener Julian y Amparo, amigos Bogotanos encontrarme al aeropuerto. Instantáneamente he estaba sentía muy confortable con mi familia Colombiana. Yo paso solo algunos días a su casa, pero estoy muy contento tener ellos aquí.

Tres días después he volado a Aeropuerto El Dorado he encontrado un nuevo apartamento para compartir con dos Colombianos. Una semana más tarde estoy contento que he encontrado este apartamento, los nuevos amigos vivir con quien están muy simpático y muy tranquilo. He mirado a dos otras casas, y es normal para extranjeros vivir con otros extranjeros, entonces estoy feliz vivir con nuevos amigos Colombianos. Puedo encontrar muchos más Bogotanos en la casa, ellos hablan español siempre entonces puedo tratar escuchar y después tiempo aprender más de la idioma. Pero tengo que decir, cuando estoy con gente quien habla español solo, en un grupo grande, es muy difícil entender (especialmente las bromas!) y más difícil contribuir y participar. Pero yo se este vía es la solo vía aprender y estaré paciente. Solo necesito un poquito más tiempo...

El apartamento es en una muy locación ideal, cerca el centro y La Candelaria pero muy tranquilo y seguro. Actualmente, es como he encontrado un poquito de Montreal en Colombia. Hay muchos ricos restaurantes cerca la casa para explorar y probar, y la semana pasada yo fui ver una película Francés como parte de la Festival de Cine Francés de Colombia. También, ya he encontrado espectáculos ver, el pasado fin de semana yo y nuevos amigos fuimos ver Crystal Castles, Miike Snow y más DJs a la sexto piso de un estacionamiento, una pequeña festival electrónica con muy buen acústicos dentro de una grande espacio de hormigón.

Porque vivo en a montaña decidí que podría atacar la elevación de Los Andes, entonces yo tenía correr 5-10+ km todas las mañanas, a la montaña a través parques y los barrios de Bogotá. Muy buena vía para ver la ciudad y para contrarrestar el queso de las arepas y empanadas!

Ahora estoy buscando para más oportunidades, oportunidades para ser de voluntario, posiblemente trabajar y, lo más importantemente, divertirse la ciudad de Bogotá y la gente aquí.

After ten days in Bogotá, the city has quickly become my new home. When I arrived last week I was very fortunate to have Julian and Amparo, Bogotá friends, meet at the airport. Instantly I was feeling very comfortable with my Colombian family. I spend only a few days at home, but I am very glad to have my Colombian family and extended family here.

Three days after I flew to El Dorado Airport I have found a new apartment to share with two Colombians. A week later I'm really happy I found this apartment, new friends to live with who are very helpful and very relaxed. I looked at two other houses, and it is normal for foreigners to live with other foreigners, so I'm happy to live with new Colombian friends. I can meet many more locals in the house, they always speak Spanish so I can try to listen and then more time to learn more of the language. But I have to say, when I'm with people who speak Spanish only, in a large group, it is very difficult to understand (especially the jokes!) and even more difficult to contribute and participate. But I know this way is the only way to learn and I will be patient. I just need a little more time ...

The apartment is in an ideal location near downtown and La Candelaria, but very quiet and safe. Currently, it's like I found a little of Montreal in Colombia. There are many great restaurants near the house to explore and try, and last week I went to see a French film as part of the French Film Festival of Colombia. Also, I've found shows to see, last weekend new friends and I went to see Crystal Castles, Miike Snow and more DJs on the sixth floor of a mulit-level parking lot, a small electronic festival with very good acoustics in a what in essence is a large enclosed concrete space.

As I'm living on a mountain I decided I could attack the elevation of the Andes, so I have been running 5-10+ km every morning up the mountains, through parks and neighbourhoods of Bogotá. Very good way to see the city and to counter the cheese arepas and empanadas!

Now - I'm looking for more opportunities, opportunities to volunteer, possibly work and, most importantly, have fun the city of Bogotá and the people here.

Au Revoir Montréal

El tiempo ha venía. Ahora misma estoy en el aeropuerto, listo para salir de Montreal. La destinación: Bogotá, Colombia. Más de Bogotá pronto.

Tengo mucha suerte pasar las últimos 3 años a Montreal. Hace tres años, yo estaba en Australia y yo hice la decisión venir a Montreal con poquito información sobre la ciudad. Estoy feliz decir la estaba la mejor decisión he hecho.

Montreal ha me ofrecido más oportunidades que puedo imaginar - de los festivales y espectáculos de verano al "winter wonderland" de invierno - del entusiasmo y optimismo de primavera al bonito colores de otoño - un poquito norteamericano mixto con la cultura frances - y claro la gente muy liberal y diversa que hace la ciudad lo que es.

Creo las semanas últimas muestran un tiempo típico en Montreal. La vie voy a extrañar de Montreal. Todos los días yo estaba con buenos amigos. Todos los días yo como la comida muy rica - Chez José, Aux Vivres, Crudessence, Sabor Latino, Santropol, Romados (sólo para nombrar algunos pocos). Muchos días tranquilos a los parques o piscina montaña. Después los días tranquilos, corriendo en la montaña y Parc Lafontaine. Muchas noches sale, con espectáculos como Beach House, Kele (de Bloc Party), Does it Offend You, Yeah? y la Orquestra Sinfónica de Montreal con buenos amigos. Una semana típica en Montreal. La vie.

Voy a extrañar la cuidad, la gente, y la vie allá y Montréal va a estar mi casa segunda siempre. Gracias a todos mis amigos de Montreal de los 3 años he tenía allá. Voy a verse cuando vuelvo a la tundra pronto.

I have been very lucky to spend the last three years in Montreal. Three years ago, I was in Australia and I made the decision to come to Montreal with little information about the city. I am happy to say the was the best decision I have made.

Montreal has offered me more opportunities than I can imagine - from festivals and summer shows to the "winter wonderland" of winter - the enthusiasm and optimism of spring, the beautiful colors of autumn - a little North American mixed with French culture - and of course the very liberal and diverse people that make the city what it is.

I think the last few weeks show a typical time in Montreal. La vie I will miss Montreal. Every day I was with good friends. Every day the food was delicious - Chez José, Aux Vivre Crudessence, Sabor Latino, Santropol, Romados (just to name a few). Many lazy days at the parks or the mountain pool. After quiet days, running in the mountains and Parc Lafontaine. Many nights out, with shows such as Beach House, Kele (Bloc Party), Does it Offended You, Yeah? and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra with good friends. A typical week in Montreal. La vie.

I will miss the city, people and la vie there, and Montreal will always be my second home. Thanks to all my friends in Montreal for three years I was there. I'll be when I return to the tundra soon.

Una Introducción

I like to try new things. I like new experiences. I like to learn and challenge myself. Recently I left my "regular job" to look for new experiences, to learn and to challenge myself. In this I hope to look for the sorts of challenges that I'm not normally exposed to and try my hand at a few things that I always thought I was not very good at. One of these things being language, and maybe a little writing too. This is simply a space for me to practice mi español in written form and to record thoughts, experiences and my opinions. As I recently started (another) hiatus from employment I have now found myself with some free time to put to a more productive use. And, why not?

Me gusta tratar nueva cosas. Me gusta nueva experiencias. Me gusta aprender y desafiarme. Recientemente, he salido mi "trabajo regular" para buscar más desafíos que no estoy expuesto normalmente y para tratar nueva cosas que siempre he creído no puedo hacer muy bien. Uno de estas cosas es escrito, la otra es las idiomas. Este es un espacio para mi practicar mi español en la forma escrita y grabar mis pensamientos y mis opiniones. Porque recientemente he empezado (un otro) hiato de empleo yo he me encontrado un poquito más tiempo poner a un más uso productivo. Y, ¿porque no?
